Code of Business Ethics
prevnext

This code applies to all of the operations of Geofizyka Toruń Sp. z o.o. hereinafter referred to as GT and its subsidiaries and sets out the minimum standards which the Management Board of GT expects from its employees and representatives in their internal and external dealings with colleagues, business partners, customers and other parties.

Commitment to Legal and Ethical Conduct

Maintaining the highest standard of ethics in the conduct of our business is our company policy and has always been an integral part of the Geofizyka Torun (GT) culture. Our reputation for ethical business practices is one of our most valued assets.
GT will conduct its business and affairs in accordance with the letter and spirit of all applicable laws in the countries in which it operates. If any GT employee or representative is ever uncertain as to the interpretation or application of a particular law, he or she must seek advice from Legal Services before taking action. Compliance with the law may, however, fall short of the standard of ethical conduct expected by GT.
Accordingly, it is GT's policy that each of its directors, employees and representatives conduct GT's business with honesty, integrity, and fairness. It is also corporate policy that communication and relationships with business partners, suppliers and customers be truthful and transparent in a way that will withstand the highest degree of public scrutiny. Working relationships will be based on honesty and openness, treating each other fairly and with respect.

Prohibitions Against Bribery and Corruption

Basic criminal statutes of virtually all countries prohibit extortion and bribery. Under no circumstances will GT, directly or indirectly, knowingly offer or give a bribe. Further, GT will not support a transaction that involves the offer or giving of a bribe, and will exercise reasonable diligence and care not to support unknowingly such a transaction.
Similarly, employees should not offer, directly or indirectly, gift, entertainment or favor to any person or company in a position to make or influence decisions regarding GT business transactions, other than Customary Gifts. Cash and cash equivalents will never be considered an acceptable gift.
GT employees or representatives will use only ethical business practices while conducting business activities, thus bribes, kickbacks or other similar gifts or payments to an individual or company are prohibited. Likewise, an employee or representative shall not accept any gift or payment in connection with decisions or actions taken at GT.

Human Rights

GT values human rights and promotes the protection of internationally recognized human rights, consistent with the policies of the government of Poland.
GT employees and representatives are entitled to have their dignity as human beings respected and to work in an environment free from intimidation, hostility or offensiveness. GT is therefore committed to creating and maintaining a work and business environment that is free from harassment and discrimination on prohibited grounds. These prohibited grounds include: age, race, colour, religion, creed, sex, nationality, ethnic or place of origin, citizenship, language, political belief, marital or family status, pregnancy, sexual orientation and disability.

Avoiding Conflicts of Interest

The Management, all employees and representatives of GT have a duty to act in the best interests of GT at all times. A "conflict of interest" exists whenever an individual's own interests interfere or conflict in any way with the interests of the Company. The judgment of GT employees and representatives must be seen to be independent of any personal or financial interests that arise from business dealings, social ties, or other personal considerations.

Maintaining Confidentiality of Information

The Management, all employees and representatives of GT must maintain the confidentiality of classified information entrusted to them by business partners, suppliers or customers. GT will preserve confidential information in its possession, and use such information only for its internal purposes.

Protection And Proper Use Of Company Assets

The Management, all employees and representatives of GT should protect the Company's assets and ensure their efficient use for legitimate business purposes.

Political Contributions

GT does not support or use company funds to support any political party or any political candidate. However, GT employees and representatives may participate individually in political activities with their own time and resources.

Reporting Unethical and Illegal Conduct/ Ethics Questions

GT requires its employees to report illegal or unethical conduct and to ask questions about the appropriateness of conduct. In this regard, employees and representatives are required to report any legal, ethical, or policy violation to one of the following (in the event the employee is reporting the conduct of one of the persons listed below, the employee or representative should make the report to another person on the list):
