GT provides complete set of professional geodetic services for seismic data acquisition. GT's highly experienced and trained staff use advanced GPS technology, also real time (DGPS, RTK and RTCM), backed up by the most modern conventional topographical surveying methods including triangulation and traversing.
For onshore seismic projects, GT uses GPS for establishing an initial geodetic network and precise source and receiver positioning. In case of lack of available local geodetic network, the Company employs IGS points . Vibrators are fitted with industry-standard differential GPS, which is directly integrated with the seismic data recording system, to monitor and record their position in real time. All instruments and receivers are integrated with computer software, that allows for fast recording of field results and the transfer of error-free data for processing.
Project cost reduction results from optimising seismic data acquisition time. This is achieved by advance scouting, precise mapping and location of obstacles, determination of optimum access routes and detailed line planning. GPS observations combined with existing local geodetic data provide quality control, accuracy and integrity of the seismic data.
