GT constantly dedicates geophysical solutions to support development of renewable energy, including geothermal energy in Germany.

Since Baden-Württemberg state is aiming to meet the goals of German Federal Government for climate neutrality, our client, badenovaWÄRMEPLUS in close cooperation and coordination with the municipalities and the approval authoritie in the survey area is currently studying the regional geology for possible potential of deep geothermal energy, as part of the ERDWÄRME – BREISGAU project. The target covers the area of 7 cities-municipalities: Breisach am Rhein, Merdingen, Freiburg-Munzingen, Schallstadt, Ehrenkirchen, Bad Krozingen and Hartheim.

GT, on behalf of badenovaWÄRMEPLUS, is currently prospecting geological structures for thermal water deposits. For this purpose we provide nodal 3D seismic data acquisition survey in the region with the use of vibroseis. The aim is to explore and to delineate potential geothermal reservoirs down to a depth of around 3000 m and in further steps to use the geothermal energy for the regenerative heat supply in the region.
