GT has successfully completed acquisition of 3D seismic data in Lower Saxony, Germany for BGE, the federal operator of the Asse II mine. The survey employed 40 000 active units of nodal ultra-light seismic sensor Tremornet/Quantum, which makes it the largest of its kind in Europe.

The beginning of the project dates early 2019 when comprehensive permitting started. The 3D survey, preceded with UXO of the area, was carried out between October 2019 and February 2020 with mixed energy source employed: over 30 000 VPs acquired by vibroseis and over 6 300 SPs with explosives.

The works were carried out in the direct neighborhood of Asse II, a former salt mine. The survey featured hilly area, dense forest as well as numerous urban areas. Thanks to the Next Generation Seismic nodal solutions, it was possible to complete the data acquisition ahead of the schedule with a very low HSE hazards and low environmental footprint.
